Pacific and Masterbox
Check of backup battery
This is an instruction on how to check that the backup battery on your Pacific or Masterbox is working properly and that the battery is still functional. The check should be done when installing the Pacific, as well as during yearly maintenance checks.
DURING INSTALLATION
When installing the Pacific, do a quick check of the backup battery by simply turn off the 110/230V power to your Pacific or Masterbox.
If the unit stays on, the backup battery is working. No further action needed!
If it shuts down, fill out the form on this page and we will contact you asap.
DURING MAINTENANCE
When you check the backup battery as part of your maintenance, follow this step-by-step guide.
Before you turn off the power, make a backup of your system
We recommend making a backup of your Pacific, which also saves your personal settings. If you wish to update your software while doing this, please refer to this instruction: https://lp.oxyguard.dk/pacificupdate25
Insert a USB drive on the left side of your Pacific (max 8 GB) and proceed:
1. Press Main menu on your Pacific Touchscreen
2. Press Configuration
3. Press System
4. Press Backup/Restore
5. Press Backup configuration
6. Press Backup
- System Action: Wait for the message on the screen: “All done”
7. Press the Home button
After you have made the backup of your system, try to turn off the 110/230V power to your system, like in the instruction above, during installation. If the unit stays on, the battery is working, and no need for further action. If the system shuts down, you need to inspect the battery as below.
If you proceed to inspect the battery, please note that there are 2 versions;
100W or 60W UPS, depending on your model.
Inspect and test the battery - Pacific Power Supply 100W
For Pacific Main, Combi and Probe Units used with 100W (C11PWS100)
1. Unscrew the 4 screws on the blue front of your Pacific or Masterbox.
2. Carefully lift the front panel, and beware of connected wires on Main units.
– If the unit is wall-mounted, lift it upwards about 5 cm and use the two service holes above the green connector to temporarily reattach it with screws.
3. Check that the battery wires are connected to Terminal 3 and Terminal 4.
4. Locate the power wire at Terminal 1, loosen the screw and remove the wire.
– If the unit stays on, the backup battery is working.
Optional: Measure the battery voltage across Terminal 3 and 4.
It should read around 24V. If it’s 22V or lower, we recommend
replacing the battery (typical lifespan: 4 years).
5. Reconnect the power wire to Terminal 1 and tighten the screw.
6. Reattach the front panel and fasten all 4 screws.
Inspect the battery - Pacific Power Supply 60W UPS
For Main/Combi AI/XD, Probe Unit XD and Analogue Unit used with 60W UPS (C11PWS60UPS)
1. Unscrew the 4 screws on the blue front of your Pacific or Masterbox.
2. Carefully lift the front panel.
3. Check that the battery wires are connected to –Bat and +Bat. If they are connected correctly, and the system is still not working, please contact OxyGuard for further consultation.
Optional: Measure the battery voltage across Terminal 3 and 4.
It should read around 24V. If it’s 22V or lower, we recommend
replacing the battery (typical lifespan: 4 years).
4. Reattach the front panel and fasten all 4 screws.
